In this tutorial we will learn the basics of webdesign in Photoshop, this tutorial will show you how to create a simple layout for your website.

Create a new document, 800 x 800 pixels.

Give the Website a background, ive used the code #E9FFFD. Now at the top of the page we are going to take the Rectangle Tool and create a rectangle with a height of around 25 pixels and width of 800 pixels and place it at the top of the page.

Now go to blending options for that layer and give it a gradient overlay with these options:

You should now have this:

Now under that rectangle we are going to place in a new rectangle but this time have a height of around 120 pixels.

Go to your gradient overlay options and use these options:

You should now have this:

Now Under that we are going to put another rectangle but with a height of 30 pixels, im going to use the colour code of #91E2E6. Now we are going to place a image bellow that width will span across the page, make sure the height is no more than 250 pixels.

Now we are going to go to the bottom of the page and create a rectangle with around 110 pixels height and 800 pixels wide. Then go to the blending options and use these settings:

You should now have this:

Now we are going to add our banner text, create your text by taking the Text tool and clicking on the banner, then go to Drop Shadow and choose these settings:

In the far right bottom corner of the banner we are going to place a slogan for the site and take these options:

You should now have this:

We are now going to add our text for each button and add contact details to the top rectangle. You will now have this:

Now on the top left corner create more text saying Book Now for 2007, click on the text layer and go to blending options > Stroke, choose these options:

You should now have this:

Now to add text to fill the content area and your done!
