Young Entrepreneurs – Start Them Young
Young Entrepreneurs – Start Them Young
This article – Start Them Young which I found on a Philippine website promotes the idea of starting in business young – in the articles case, very young.
Now, depending on where in the world you live, their will be some cultural differences – but overall, the article makes some good and if I dare say it “old fashioned” points.
What really got my attention was the first paragraph:
DO YOU believe that most successful entrepreneurs were children who did things for themselves, fed themselves, dressed themselves, or rather we call them “self supporting kids” and chose their own friends, among others?
Now, some people will raise the exploitation of Child Labour issue – and I would agree with that – but still I think it makes some good points.
Read it for yourself and let me know your views. Start Them Young
Some of the “suggestions” such as: “teach children some skills using their hands like crocheting, sewing, or baking” are perhaps not that applicable (well, I certainly never wanted to learn “crocheting”) – but other suggestions such as the one below are SPOT ON:
* Develop a family atmosphere of self-reliance and freedom. Early in life, children must be given a lot of independence with not much restriction on their freedom. Some parents equate their love to protect so they pick up after them. Most successful entrepreneurs were children who did things for themselves, fed themselves, dressed themselves, chose their own friends, etc….
Wishing you a Great Day
