Young Entrepreneur Weekly Thoughts – 25th January 2009
by Michael Posted in Young EntrepreneursI have been told often that “You are who you Associate With” but it wasn’t till lately when a interviewee mentioned it to me that I thought about doing either a blogger’s or young entrepreneurs meet up in Sussex where I live. I have been running a young bloggers MSN meetup for a while and I have had some great ideas from the talk and would love to take it to the next level. If you have had any experiences with doing meet up’s or would are interested in coming to one, please let me know.

I have been helping a lot of people get their first blog online and with all my help, some still struggle with the basic’s, what do you guys think of a ultimate newbie guide, really dumb it down and make it simple.
I am always experimenting on new ways to drive traffic to my website, quite often I see a lot of forums talking about the interviews on my website, some have over 100 responses! Has anyone else had a success with forum marketing? Just today I was mentioned on Warrior Forum and it has had over 30 responses!
What’s hot in the Young Entrepreneur World
- Yanik silver has Announced a Special Scholarship Opportunity for 10 Super Star Young Entrepreneurs – Will You Be One of Them? This will be my 5th Underground event and I have learnt so much from all these top gurus, the only downside for me was I was the only youngster there but this year that’s changed! So far I have heard that David Leggett and David Wilkinson have applied for the Scholarship so you could be hanging out with not just the top internet entrepreneurs but the top young entrepreneurs. In the past I have been able to mingle with some real amazing interenet entrepreneurs, including Joel Comm, Darren Rowse and Tony Hsieh who sold his first company for $265 million to Micrsoft and is now the CEO of Zappos.

- I have been working with a family friend who is just 15, he has just started his first blog which is about fast cars and modifying your car! To see how Charlie is doing, click here.
- David Leggett has been telling me about User Optimization and why I should be using it on my website, I couldn’t ignore his advice when in only 8 months he has grown his blog’s from 0 subscribers to 10,000! Definitely a subject to learn in 2009, click here to visit his new site! The amount of customizations David has done to his blog’s is amazing, everything is so perfect and he’s obviously through out the whole process of creating his sites has had the user in mind!

I would go to the Sussex meet up if it is close enough. I would love to go to an underground seminar but can never get there.
Good luck to Charlie!
Nice little round up.
I’ve found UXBooth before, looks really good, brillaint information.

Favorite part of the blog = the interviews. Always great to hear real-world examples of the success stories, lessons learned, etc. You’ve been able to pull some great talent for many of the interviews.
