Young Entrepreneur Weekly Thoughts – 03 February 2009
Hello Everyone,
This week I plan to do a couple video’s with two young bloggers, Shane Hudson of Success Ciruite and Charlie Dean of Mod That Ride. They will be sharing with us what they have learnt so far from starting their new blogs. I have been working with Charlie today in a one on one master mind and I can see him this year becoming one of our top young bloggers very soon!
I have been thinking of starting a new area for new hot young entrepreneurs who haven’t quite made it yet. Who would you like me to include and what features would you like the area to include?

Just before Christmas we moved round the corner to a new house which I love! It has given me the opportunity to reorganise my life and get rid of the old and in with the new! My regular readers will have noticed that In the last couple months I have started to really improve Retireat21 and add more updates, this is the reason why.

^^ My new work area at home! ^^
What I Like About My New Set Up:
- Simple, all I have is my computer and my to do list. I find writing down what you want to accomplish in the day really helps you to do more. On days I don’t have a list I don’t anywhere near achieve as much and find myself wasting the day away.
- Two Screen Setup, acording to Tim Schmidt, having two computer monitors increases your productivity by over 29.7%. Although I haven’t got the same setup, I still am able to multi task using two pc’s for two different jobs. For example on my PC I look at new designs and keep my eye on the forum and twitter updates and on my laptop I do my blog posts, interviews and emails.
- A room with a view, I find having a good view can keep you motivated. Yesterday while working I saw a Ferrari drive past and thought to myself that could be me in a couple years if I keep working hard.
What’s Hot On Retireat21
- We have now reached 80 top young bloggers! This list isn’t like a lot of our competitors that list any site, the list is full of top notch bloggers who really have what it takes to make it big in 2009! I would like to welcome our newest bloggers: Mr Javu, The 4 eBlog and Build Internet.
- Our latest interviewee, Alex Melen, has agreed to answer any further questions you have for him on our forums, click here to ask Alex a question.
- Dell want to give you $50,000! Yes, that’s right, Dell are giving away $50,000 to the young entrepreneur with the best idea for a business that could change the world by addressing social issues.
- We currently have been sending a email out to our mailing list every time we have a update or new interview, I have been thinking this last week that we should turn into a weekly thing with all the updates at once and some exclusive tips, what do you think about this? What would you like to see in a news letter for making money online?
To our success in 2009,
Michael Dunlop
PS. What have you achieve this week?
PPS. I find using to do lists helps me achieve more on a daily basis, what do you do to achieve more?

It's hysterical how much that setup looks like mine.

You can use a program like Input Director or Multiplicity to have two computers, one mouse and keyboard.

This week has been pretty good so far. Got a lot of traffic somehow...even though I was away for four days! Got lots of plans for the rest of this week...and having snow days makes getting things done a lot easier! I now have a nice notebook...which suddenly means my life is a lot easier to organise.

Writer Dad, no picture no proof :) Jordan, Thanks - I was thinking of getting a second monitor so that software will help. Sophie, That's great news! Keep it up.

Very nice! Thanks for the link! My mum always moans at me for using 2 (sometimes 3) computers, she never believes me that it is more productive lol

I like the idea of having an uncluttered work space. Makes it easier to concentrate on the task at hand without needless distractions. My workspace is just my Mac, iphone, and a pair of wireless headphones.

Dude, I would definitely recommend a 2 monitor set-up. While the two computer set-up works just as well in theory, there's a lot to be said for using just one mouse. You don't realize how convenient it is until you drag a reference sheet onto one screen and then move back to the first screen to continue working. Honestly, I'm surprised productivity only goes up 29% with the addition.

What a cosy working environment with lots of privacy! Aren't you feeling too cramped, Michael? Yan

Hi Michael, Congrats on the move. I know how refreshing it can be to get into a new environment. It seems like sometimes it just gives you a whole new feeling of goals and aspirations and can make you work more towards your overall objectives in life. Thanks for sharing... Matt
