A Common Affiliate Marketing Mistake
Hey everyone,
I have been promoting a great product called Blogging to the Bank by Rob Benwell, around 3 months ago I was selling a few every week, but the last 2 months I have sold none. I didn’t quite understand why I wasn’t selling anymore, my traffic has doubled and I promote it very well.
I have received several emails from readers asking weither or not they should buy the ebook, so yesterday I decided to email out to my list telling them about Rob and how he helped me back in September of 2006. I then received a few emails back saying people have bought it, what it contains etc. So this morning I wake up to log in to ClickBank and I had no sales.
This morning I got a email from David Wilkinson who is a young super affiliate telling me.
“Michael…. Do you know you’re not being cookied on these sales!”
I email David back saying, your wrong, look at the URL…
“http://www.bloggingtothebank.com/?hop=webdesignd”
And then I wondered, how does ClickBank know that I sent people via that URL, so I sign in to ClickBank once again and create a hoplink for Rob’s ebook and they give me the URL:
It appears that when you click this URL you get redirected to the above URL, David tells me its a common mistake for affiliate newbies like myself.
A lesson learned…
Thank you David for saving me a few more $1,000’s…
