Essential Tips For Young Entrepreneurs From Entrepreneurs At Large!

Hi Everyone

Here are some fun but informative videos from my father, Barry Dunlop and his pals – made as they sailed around the Greek Islands recently.

They call themselves Entrepreneurs At Large and in between the fun they had sailing and adventuring around the Greek Islands they recorded some tips for us young entrepreneurs plus a 3rd video below, which I highly recommend called: When is enough, ENOUGH?

By the way, the second video features a very old Dunlop family friend, Martyn Mann and yes, I am the Young Entrepreneur he is having a poke at in the 2nd video ;-)

But hey, I am a sport and frankly it is good to be able to laugh at yourself!!

By the way, none of these entrepreneurs are that famous but all of them are multi-millionaires and one in particular is worth a really serious amount of money, so for sure, their advise is spot on!!

Entrepreneurs At Large – When is enough, ENOUGH?

The Entrepreneurs At Large discuss something that all entrepreneurs hope to get to discuss one day – namely, when is enough, ENOUGH? You have built businesses, you have sold businesses, and you can do more or less anything you wish to, so why would you want to continue to work, especially if you have just been made another generous offer for one of your businesses?

NB: Barry Dunlop wants it to be known, he loves Canada and Canadians!

Great videos, I watched em all, I agree with Martyn Mann, it is important to know your strengths, and use them to the full potential, and not to try to venture out too much from it, as it can distract you in my opinion.

    Till then,

    Jean

The idea to quit when the passion is gone is sweet but not realistic. In order to make money a man must do what man must do. If You try some kind of business and it’s running well, You should stick to it even if Your passion have gone away.

Hahaha! I laughed my head off at what Martyn said in the beginning of that second video! Definately something us young entrepreneurs should bare in mind…!!

“all of them are multi-millionaires and one in particular is worth a really serious amount of money”

Am I the only one that still thinks that being ’simply’ a multi-millionaire is already a ‘really serious amount of money’?!? :)

    Thanks for the videos.

Can’t state enough how important the entrepreneurial spirit is.

Curious if anyone has caught this book yet? “The Richest Man in Town” by W Randall Jones. I’ve read half of it so far and let me tell you it is well worth it. Would like to hear what everyone else thought of it?

I actually agree with the “quit when the passion is gone” line. I mean, there’s no sense in doing something you only give half-heartedly. It’s either find another one or just enjoy the spoils of your hardwork. Robby G, thanks. I’m one of those Canadian entrepreneurs.

    Regards,
    Phil

I empathize with the thought of leaving the things you are not anymore interested in. But I am firm believer of perseverance, i.e. finish what I have started. If certain venture doesn’t seem to be working, then I will start new one & avoid the mistakes this time. But quitting ain’t an option, man!
